Fairfield Eagles and Ferris Varsity Yellowjackets finished in a 2-2 tie on Thursday.

Fairfield opened the scoring in the first inning after an error brought in one run.

In the top of the sixth inning, Ferris Varsity Yellowjackets went back into the lead after D. Hansen singled down the right field line, and M. Leija singled down the right field line, each scoring one run.

Logan Williams doubled down the left field line, which helped Fairfield Eagles tie the game at two in the bottom of the sixth.

Zechariah Smith stepped on the mound first for Fairfield Eagles. The right-handed pitcher gave up five hits and two runs (zero earned) over seven innings, striking out four and walking none. A. Gonzalez started on the mound for Ferris Varsity Yellowjackets. The starting pitcher allowed five hits and two runs (one earned) over seven innings, striking out three and walking two.

Williams went 1-for-3 at the plate and led the team with one run batted in. Braxton Acker, Landon Bostic, Gavin Thaler, Smith, and Williams each collected one hit for Fairfield Eagles. Gustavo Aguilera stole two bases.

Leija went 1-for-3 at the plate and led the team with one run batted in. Gonzalez went 2-for-3 at the plate to lead Ferris Varsity Yellowjackets in hits.
