The Fairfield Eagles picked up a strong road win Tuesday night, defeating Westwood 11-1.

Fairfield took an early lead in the top of the first inning. Landon Bostic singled to the left side of the infield to drive in a run, and a Westwood error allowed another run to score.

The Eagles added five more runs in the second inning. Landon Cockerell singled to bring in a run, Braxton Acker added a two run single, and another Panther error scored two more runs.

Fairfield extended the lead with three additional runs in the third inning. RBI errors by Cockerell, Jackson Murphy, and Bostic helped push the Eagles further ahead.

Zech Smith earned the win on the mound for Fairfield. The right hander allowed three hits and one earned run over five innings while striking out six and walking two.

Acker led the Eagles offensively with two RBIs and went 2 for 3 at the plate. Acker and Smith each collected two hits in the game.

Fairfield was aggressive on the base paths, stealing 14 bases. Hudson Wendt, Acker, Gavin Thaler, and Smith each recorded multiple steals. The Eagles also turned a double play and played error free defense, with Thaler recording a team high seven chances in the field.

Fairfield will travel to Connally for its next game on Thursday.
