The Fairfield Lady Eagles put together a strong performance Friday night, defeating Buffalo 4-0 behind a dominant outing from Haylee Allen.
Allen was in control from start to finish in the circle, striking out 13 batters while allowing just three hits and no runs across seven innings. She also walked only one, leading the Lady Eagles to a complete game shutout.
After a scoreless battle through six innings, Fairfield broke through in the top of the seventh. The Lady Eagles capitalized on an error and strung together timely hits from Cadence Webster, Allen, and Evelyn Fultz. Each contributed an RBI in the inning to secure the 4-0 win.
Cariss Capps led Fairfield at the plate with two hits, while Fultz, Allen, and Webster each drove in a run. Payton Mims added pressure on the bases with two stolen bases.
Defensively, the Lady Eagles were solid throughout, not committing a single error. Webster led the team with 13 defensive plays, and Fairfield also turned a double play.
With the win, the Lady Eagles continue to build momentum as they move forward in district play.
