The Fairfield Eagles came up short against Teague on Tuesday, falling 5-1.
Teague struck first in the opening inning, taking advantage of an error to go up 1-0. The Eagles answered right back in the bottom of the first when Landon Cockerell doubled down the left field line, driving in a run to tie the game at one.
Teague regained the lead in the second inning on a single, then added another run in the third to make it 3-1. They went on to extend their lead and secure the win.
Cockerell led the Eagles at the plate, going 2-for-3 with an RBI. Connor Colvert added speed on the bases with two stolen bases.
On the mound, Cockerell went the distance for Fairfield, pitching seven innings with six strikeouts.
The Eagles will look to bounce back Friday as they take on Westwood.
