The Fairfield Eagles took control early and never let up in an 11-1 win over Mexia on Tuesday.

Fairfield set the tone in the first inning, capitalizing on an error and a sacrifice bunt by Collen Loviette to jump out to a quick lead. The Eagles kept the pressure on in the second, taking advantage of walks and multiple Mexia errors to extend the gap.

Fairfield added another run in the third on a sacrifice bunt from Landon Bostic, continuing a strong offensive approach that kept runners moving and forced mistakes.

Landon Cockerell was sharp on the mound, allowing just two hits and one unearned run over six innings. He struck out five and walked one. Kohl Collins closed things out to secure the win.

At the plate, Loviette led the way with two hits. Braxton Acker, Bostic, Loviette, Collins, and Jackson Murphy each drove in a run. The Eagles were aggressive on the bases all night, racking up 13 stolen bases. Loviette and Zechariah Smith each had multiple steals.

Fairfield will be back at home Tuesday as they host Buffalo.
