Gustavo Aguilera delivered a strong performance on the mound, throwing a complete game shutout to lead Fairfield to a 6-0 win over Elkhart on Thursday.

The Eagles got on the board in the second inning when Kohl Collins launched a two run home run to left field. They added another run in the third after an Elkhart error to build a 3-0 lead.

At the plate, Collins showed patience all night, drawing three walks. Fairfield finished with eight walks and stayed aggressive on the bases with 10 stolen bases. Collins, Connor Colvert, and Collen Loviette each recorded multiple steals.

Aguilera was backed by a solid defensive effort. The Eagles played a clean game with no errors, and Landon Washington led the way with 12 defensive plays.

Braxton Acker, Collins, Colvert, Loviette, Zechariah Smith, and Aguilera each collected a hit for Fairfield.

Fairfield’s strong all around performance secured the shutout win as they continue postseason play.
