Little River Academy scored six runs in the second inning, which helped defeat Fairfield 10-0 on Friday in Game 2 of the Bi-District series at Mumford.
Little River Academy got on the board in the first inning when Jamie Chipman grounded out, scoring two runs.
The Bumblebees added six runs on four hits in the second inning. Reese Espino singled to score one run, an error brought in two, Chipman added a sacrifice fly, and Max Marshall and Hunter Hudler each drove in a run with singles.
Little River Academy added two more runs in the third inning on a single by Charlie Butler to extend the lead to 10-0.
Chipman earned the win, throwing five no-hit innings with eight strikeouts and one walk.
Landon Cockerell took the loss for Fairfield. He pitched one and two-thirds innings, allowing eight runs, none of them earned.
Chipman and Butler led the way at the plate with two hits each, with Butler also driving in two runs. Little River Academy was aggressive on the base paths, finishing with six stolen bases, including two from Cyler Fuentes, and did not commit an error in the field. Marshall led defensively with eight chances.
The loss brings the Eagles’ 2026 season to a close. This group competed all year with toughness and pride, representing Fairfield the right way every time they took the field.
